Theo Vorster was born on 11 May 1964 in a small Free State town called Zastron. During June 1977, whilst the family holidayed in Durban, he experimented with his mother’s camera at the Oceanarium. The end result was beautiful action photographs of the dolphins which exited him immensely and convinced him to take up photography.

He started his photography “life” with a Pentax K1000 camera, but during his army training, he invested in his first NIKON camera. He has never looked back and is the proud owner of various vintage Nikon cameras. He is currently using the Nikon D4 and Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm lens.

As the years passed, he gained experience in most photography genres – architecture, events/shows, journalism, sport, weddings, model, and wildlife photography which all form part of his portfolio.

BUT his greatest photography passions are WILDLIFE, MODELS and SPORT. He has recently focused more on sport, as action photography is always a challenge to get the right picture at the exact right moment,

His favorite venue for wildlife photographs is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park where he can wait for hours for the perfect photograph to arrange itself in his camera lenses. He undertook his first exploration during June / July 1994. He has since ventured back 20 times to this pristine wilderness area and upgraded to the proud owner of a vintage LandRover, to explore the red sands of the kalahari.

His exposure to model photography started in 1988. His portfolio was included in MERCER MODELS (similar to Model Mayhem and Modelbase) and was also chief photographer at UBA Models. Whilst living in Bloemfontein, he hosted his first model search event in 2005. At the end of 2006 he moved to Pretoria and hosted similar events ever since.

Theo is a freelance photographer with AMERICAN IMAGE PRESS and had media accreditation to various sport events during the past year.

PHOTOGRAPHY IS MY PASSION – A TALENT I RECEIVED FROM GOD WHICH I LOVE TO SHARE WITH FRIENDS!
